ATHLETE AND ZEISS COACH OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS

 

The following is the nomination form for the Athlete and Coach of the Year, female and male. Please provide a brief summary, rationalizing the nomination(s), based on the following criteria.  Both the nomination form and the summary must be received in the National Office by the nomination deadline. Nominations will only be accepted from the Divisions. 

 

The recipients of these awards reflect the values of Biathlon Canada. These values and standards include:

 

1.             ATHLETE OF THE YEAR CRITERIA NOMINATION

 

a)         Demonstrating, by example, a positive image as an athlete and being a good ambassador for the sport of Biathlon - brief summary;

 

            b)         Demonstrating personal achievement and excellence;

 

c)         Other contributions to the sport - please give details.

    

2.          ZEISS COACH OF THE YEAR CRITERIA FOR NOMINATIONS

 

a)         Presenting, through example, a positive image of coaching.

 

            b)         Demonstrating concern for all-round development of the athlete and instilling guidelines reflecting responsible conduct beyond the playing field.

 

c)         Demonstrating respect for officials, opponents and parents, and espousing a philosophy of fair play.

 

           d)         Demonstrating the ability to improve the athletic performance of a team or individual.

 

e)         Applying relevant training theory and coaching techniques.
