Biathlon Canada is seeking members for 4 new domestic working groups: Officials Development, Domestic Competition, Community Coaching and Competition Coaching.

Officials Development Working Group
Mission·Increase the number and certification level of officials registered with Biathlon
Canada·Support the development of officials for sufficient competition opportunities throughout Canada
Members·3 to 5 registered participants appointed by the Sport Development Manager
·Must be certified at the leader level or higher
Responsibilities·Advise the Sport Development Manager with:
o Appointing officials for Biathlon Canada sanctioned events
o Determining the officials development program structure
·Assist the Sport Development Manager with:
o Organizing officials workshops
o Maintaining a list of officials workshops
o Maintaining a database of biathlon officials
o Updating the officials workshop materials and resources
o Liaising with divisions regarding officials development opportunities
Domestic Competition Working Group Mission·Supervise the organization of Biathlon Canada sanctioned competitions
·Support the development of meaningful competition opportunities throughout Canada
Members·3 to 5 registered participants appointed by the Sport Development Manager
·Must be either certified Competition coaches or officials at the Leader level or higher
·A mix of coaches and officials will be selected
Responsibilities
·Advise the Sport Development Manager with:
o Maintaining the Biathlon Canada Hosting Policy
o Scheduling of events
o Awarding of events
o Determining competition formats
·Assist the Sport Development Manager with:
o Calculating Nationals aggregate awards
o Creating event invitations and registrations
o Preparing grant applications and reports
o Tracking athlete participation
Community Coach Working Group Mission·Increase the number and certification level of community coaches throughout Canada
·Support the offering of Community coach workshops throughout Canada
· Provide up to date coach resources for Community sport
Members·3 to 5 registered participants appointed by the Sport Development Manager
·Must be Certified community coaches
Responsibilities
·Advise the Sport Development Manager with:
o Scheduling of Community Coach learning facilitator and evaluator workshops
o Developing Competition Guidelines for Community Sport
·Assist the Sport Development Manager with:
o Tracking community coaching workshops
o Tracking the number and distribution of community coaches
o Liaising with divisions to ensure sufficient coach development opportunities are available
o Maintaining community coach workshop materials and resources
o Organizing non-NCCP workshops on community coach topics
o Approving events in the CAC Locker
Competition Coach Working Group Mission
·Increase the number and certification level of competition coaches throughout Canada
·Support the offering of Competition coach workshops throughout Canada
·Provide up to date coach resources for Competitive sport
Members·3 to 5 registered participants appointed by the Sport Development Manager
·Must be Certified Competition coaches
